Our mission

Characters with heart

Whether the protagonists of our series are heroes or anti-heroes, they need to connect with the audience in one fundamental way…they must have heart.

We are not interested in cold fish, cynics or bureaucrats, we want to connect with; someone who shares something of our life experience. We may or may not love them, but we always care about them.

Stories with meaning

Whatever the story, whatever the journey we go on, whatever the genre, we need to feel that there was a reason we went the distance with the series.
We want something deeper than just plot or comedy, mystery or fantasy…we want it to mean something.

It’s entertainment after all

We aren’t here to lecture, to instruct or to push a particular worldview. We are here to give the audience a place to escape to, a group of friends to hang with, a source of laughter, tears and new experiences. We are here to give them something to discuss, quote and remember.

We are here to entertain.

  • Executive Producer/Founder

     Mark set up Green Button Media shortly after leaving The Walt Disney Company where he had worked as an executive producer for over twenty years. As part of the launch team for Disney+ in the UK and across Europe he served in the commissioning team working across multiple series in production and development.

    These series include: In the UK; Renegade Nell (Sally Wainwright), Culprits (J Blakeson), Nautilus (James Dormer), Wedding Season and The Stolen Girl.
    Europe; in Italy; The Good Mothers (Stephen Butchard), The Ignorant Angels (Ferzan Ozpetek), Boris; In France - Oussekine, Weekend Family plus multiple series in development across several countries.

    Mark brings all his experience in development and production along with his insights from a commissioner standpoint.

  • Executive Producer

    Karen Vermeulen has over 25 years experience raising finance and putting together coproductions for both live action and animation projects; with a strong focus on how to be commercially savvy about what project to take to market, what partners to attach, and how to fundraise. She has a development project that has just been picked up by Netflix for further development, as well as a feature film in pre-production with Director, Rodrigo Blass - for which she put in place the theatrical distributors both in Europe and the US market, as well as brokered private investment and tax credits.  

    Karen partners with us through her company Pintail Media on several projects and brings a comprehensive track record in the live action and scripted landscape.
